Sustainable development goals

With the implementation of a series of activities for the development of electromobility, EVN as a  socially responsible company joins the global efforts to achieve the goals for sustainable development, the so-called. SDGs, which are the basis of the "Agenda 2030". The Agenda represents a roadmap for collective efforts for a better future, and was adopted in 2015 by all member states of the United Nations. In order to achieve the desired effects and meet the goals for sustainable development, active engagement is necessary from all stakeholders in society - institutions, businesses, the civil sector and the citizens themselves.

By setting up electric vehicle charging stations in most urban areas in the country, EVN contributes to goal no. 11 - Sustainable cities and communities.

The use of electricity instead of fossil fuels in traffic contributes to the reduction of air pollution, as well as less negative effects on the environment. This contributes to goal no. 13 - Climate action, but also goal no. 7 - Affordable and clean energy. Additionally,  electromobility also encourages the use of renewable or clean energy. Namely, businesses and households that have made a decision to use electricity for transportation have a strong motivation to rationalize their own electricity consumption. That rationalization usually implies the introduction of renewable energy production for self-consumption, such as photovoltaic systems installed within the facilities of users.

The use of electricity for mobility is constantly increasing worldwide. The increased use of electric vehicles encourages innovations in creating an offer of diverse solutions in this segment. For these reasons, EVN's efforts also contribute to goal no. 9 - Industry, innovation and infrastructure.
